Great weekend…
… at the BMW VIC Service day in northern Victoria.
Interesting mix of bikes ranging from 1941 R75 to the latest high-tech racer.

Good opportunity for a good 600k test run after getting the jetting right only recently.
One final valve check, carburetor sync, oil change and new tyres over the next 5 month – and we are ready to roll!
If all goes well 7,500km services in Novosibirsk and Trondheim and the next one after that in Melbourne, again – after shipping the bike from London with 20,000 on the trip.
Getting ready…
8 month to go before I fly out to Seoul and on to Vladivostok by ferry to take the Transiberian Highway to St Petersburg, Murmansk, Norway and Germany to reconnect with Anne and the kids.
90% of the equipment list is complete and most travel admin and the rough route is at least planned. Bike seems to be in good order, just a slight niggle in the carbie settings.
Company management in place to cope with my 3+ month absence.
My Russian learning has progressed much slower than planned, mainly because I am either too busy or too tired (from being too busy).
Feels real for the first time and the next eight month will just fly.
Where to start?
Maybe with a bit of psychology:
Wanderlust may reflect an intense urge for self-development by experiencing the unknown, confronting unforeseen challenges, getting to know unfamiliar cultures, ways of life and behaviours or may be driven by the desire to escape and leave behind depressive feelings of guilt, and has been linked to bipolar disorder in the periodicity of the attacks. In adolescence, dissatisfaction with the restrictions of home and locality may also fuel the desire to travel.
